Our philosophy

Every cone in our collection is personally selected. We travel to Italy to review industrial stock firsthand, assess quality, test the fibers, and make our choices on site. This direct sourcing allows us to curate a collection defined by exceptional materials, consistency and integrity.

Most our yarns originate from high-quality industrial surplus. Without a new purpose, these fibers would remain unused or be destroyed. By giving them a second life, we preserve valuable resources and extend the lifespan of exceptional materials.

At when yarn blooms, craft meets intention. We source for makers who value thoughtful creation over mass production, who choose quality over convenience, who knit with meaning and wear with pride. Our collection features carefully selected cashmere, merino, kid mohair, yak, alpaca and silk, fibers chosen for their character, performance and beauty.

Our yarns carry a secret. Fresh from the cone, they are merely a promise. Wash them, block them, and wear them — and the fiber comes to life. It softens, opens up, and becomes something richer than what you first held in your hands. We call this the bloom: the moment the yarn reveals its true character, and your garment becomes truly yours.

We believe in slow making, especially in a world that moves fast and often demands more than it gives back; in materials that mature gracefully and in the quiet confidence knowing exactly what something is made of.

Premium should never mean unattainable. At when yarn blooms, it never does.
